Laminate Flooring
Laminate is quick to install and easy to get wrong. Level subfloors, the right underlay and proper expansion gaps are what separate a good laminate floor from a noisy one.
We level and smooth the subfloor first, fit the underlay suited to the room, then lay the boards with consistent expansion gaps and neat perimeter detailing. Doorways, thresholds and skirting are finished so nothing lifts or clicks underfoot later.

Common questions
- Can laminate go over my existing floor?
- Sometimes, if the existing floor is flat, dry and firmly fixed. We check before deciding rather than assuming.
- Why does laminate need expansion gaps?
- The boards move slightly with temperature and humidity. Without a gap at the perimeter the floor lifts or buckles.
- Is laminate suitable for bathrooms?
- Usually not. For wet rooms we would recommend tiling or a suitable vinyl instead, and we will say so honestly.
